Professor Paul Kennedy Legacy Scholarship for Psychology now open
The Professor Paul Kennedy Legacy Scholarship for Psychology is an annual award designed to help early career SCI psychologists by providing funding to enable them to attend the ISCoS Annual Scientific Meeting and network with other SCI specialists, or attend recognised professional training courses, and alongside both pathways receive mentoring from experienced practitioners.
The award is a testimony to Paul’s ability to combine clinical and research work, and his generosity in reaching, connecting and sharing his expertise worldwide, which is celebrated through the networking aspect of this award. It is co-sponsored by The National Spinal Injuries Centre, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, the University of Sydney, and Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research, in honour of his work in developing psychological knowledge within these organisations.
Awardees are connected with the ISCoS Psychosocial Special Interest Group and present their development each year in a webinar. As well as attending the ISCoS annual meeting, previous recipients of the award have gained a range of additional skills:
- 2023 Nadiia Rechun, Psychologist at the National Rehabilitation Centre, Ukraine - furthered her clinical psychology training and trained in neuropsychology and psychosexual counselling.
